One of Barcelona´s most attractive sites, visible throughout all the city is Mount Tibidabo. If you are standing in the streets, simply look northward and you will see this looming mountain. Particularly spectacular is the image at night, where it seems to illuminate the dark skies.

Mount Tibidabo is the highest peak in the Serra de Collserola mountain range, the strip that separates Barcelona from the plains to the north. Many activities can be found at the summit including Barcelona´s oldest amusement park, in operation for over a century, as well as a gorgeous, two-tiered Catholic church, the Temple of Sagrat Cor. This church is visible throughout the entire city, in large part to the imposing statue on top of Jesus with his arms outstretched.

A great part about a trip to the peak of Tibidabo is the trip itself. Accessible by bus and car, the far more entertaining route is to take a tram up the winding hill to the base of the mountain, passing through a gorgeous neighborhood. Once at the base, there is a funicular railway that will take you to the top. Upon arrival, you will immediately be taken aback by the scenic views the high altitude offers. All of Barcelona and the extending Mediterranean waters are at the beckon of your eyes.  For an even more magnificent view, there is a lift that takes you to the base of the statue on top of the church, 540 meters above the ground.

So if you are looking for a complete experience, a trip to Mount Tibidabo is just the thing. All aspects, from the ascent up to the activities on top of the mountain make for a day of fun. So visit us at ComeToBarcelona and reserve an apartment now!
